First Sew of 2018

My first completed sewing project of 2018.  A comfortable PJ top made with cheap fabric from Walmart and the free Halla Agnes Pattern.  I plan to make another one out of some sweater knit and hopefully use it for a top this time.  I want to make the neckline a bit smaller on the next one.

Finished Doll Outfit

My daughter finally allowed me to borrow her doll Willow so I could take pictures of her new outfit.  She loves her new outfit and the purse is big enough to hold a few Shopkins.

The pattern went to together easily and fits well.  I used bias tape to finish the arm and neck holes.  I think it would be even cuter with buttons or rickrack for embellishment but my daughter wanted it to match the picture exactly.  To the point I even had to negotiate a bit because the ribbon I had on hand was a different color.

The fabric was adorable and even had a star accent on the back.  I used hook and loop fasteners on the back to make it easy for my daughter to dress the doll herself.

I enjoyed sewing this project and will purchase again if I ever find another one.

First February Sewing Project

I found this pre-printed doll dress and bag pattern at Hancock Fabrics in Arkansas. My 4 year old has several dolls that can fit 18" doll clothes so I thought I would give it a go and see how it turns out. They had several color variations and this is the one she chose.

Today I cut out the pieces and ironed them flat. I also ironed the pockets and bag in half so that everything would be ready to sew tomorrow.
